Mechatronics Engineering

About The Department

Mechatronics is a synergistic integration of mechanical engineering, control algorithm, computing technology, and electronics to manage complexity, uncertainty, and automate the engineered smart systems. Mechatronics engineering focuses mainly on industry 4.0, robotics, industrial automation, sensors and actuators, artificial intelligence, advances in manufacturing process and technologies, expert systems, bio-mechatronics, etc. The mechatronics engineers find their perfect place in various filed, which include medical, defence, manufacturing, robotics, automotive, and distributed systems and smart consumer products.

The department of Mechatronics Engineering was established in the year 2014 by the pioneers in this department. The department has well-equipped laboratory facilities. It also provides consultancy services to the industries. The department frequently arranged industrial visits, technical talks, in-plant training and internship for the students to be prepared for the industry. The department operates COEs and industry powered labs to impart knowledge base in various fields. Industrial automation, robotics, industry 4.0, embedded processors and computing are the thrust areas of research.

The mechatronics department mainly targets to equip the students with a excellent knowledge base in their interest through various skilling and development programs. The students can be either an entrepreneur or an employee. The department has potential job opportunities in Electronics / Mechanics manufacturing industries, along with a strong demand for Mechatronics engineers in the field of designing, implementing and operating internet control of machines, autonomous robots, and engine management systems.

Agni College of Technology is one of the top Mechatronics engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu with NBA accreditation because of its academic excellence, employment ratio, industry powered labs, etc
