Innovation and Product Development Cell

The Innovation and Product Development (IPD) Cell at Agni College of Technology fosters a culture of innovation, design thinking, and product development among students. Through a structured, credit-based practical approach, the cell provides a holistic learning ecosystem integrating theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience, and real-world problem solving. The IPD Cell enables students to transform ideas into impactful solutions by guiding them through a systematic innovation lifecycle aligned with industry and societal needs.

The journey begins in Semester 3 with Idea Generation, where students explore their surroundings to identify real-world problems and develop innovative ideas. This stage emphasizes creativity, observation, and critical thinking, helping students build a strong foundation for problem-solving.

In Semester 4, Conceptualization takes place, where students refine their ideas into structured and feasible solutions. They focus on design thinking, user needs, and technical clarity, transforming abstract ideas into well-defined concepts.

During Semester 5, Prototype Development and Testing, students convert their concepts into tangible models or working systems. This hands-on phase involves experimentation, validation, and iterative improvement, enabling students to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Finally, in Semester 6, Patent Filing and Startup Registration, students are introduced to intellectual property rights and entrepreneurship. They gain exposure to protecting their innovations through patents or translating their ideas into startups, preparing them for real-world impact.
