Cutting-Edge Laboratories & Facilities

The Department of Information Technology is well equipped with modern classrooms for teaching and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for practical learning. The Department imparts world-class training and provides advanced computing facilities for students to learn and conduct research. It also promotes active industry–institute collaboration by identifying areas of mutual interest and participating in sponsored research projects and consultancy services.

The Department provides extensive computing resources for research and education. This includes more than 300 high-performance computers running Linux and Windows workstations, along with a significant number of laptop systems. In addition to the general file server, the Department maintains two specialized servers for database clients and Linux-based workstations. The network infrastructure includes a Fiber-optic backbone offering 16 Mbps Internet connectivity and an intranet within the hi-tech lab, which hosts 11 laboratories. The Department also provides wireless Internet connectivity through a campus-wide 802.11b network for laptops

Laboratory Facilities

The Department has high-end modern equipment in the following laboratories

  • Data Structure Lab
  • Operating System Lab
  • Mobile Application Development Lab
  • Security Lab
  • Computer Networks Lab
  • Project Lab
Data Structure Lab

The Data Structure Lab enables students to understand, implement, and analyze fundamental data structures so they can design efficient algorithms and solve computational problems effectively. The lab provides hands-on experience in organizing data, improving performance, and writing optimized programs using appropriate data structures.

Operating System Lab

The Operating System Lab provides hands-on experience in understanding, implementing, and experimenting with core operating system concepts, enabling students to learn how an OS manages hardware, processes, memory, files, and overall system performance.

Mobile Application Development Lab

The Mobile Application Development Lab enables students to design, develop, test, and deploy mobile applications using modern tools and frameworks, while helping them understand key concepts of mobile UI/UX, data handling, and device functionalities.

Security Lab

The Security Lab provides students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in cybersecurity techniques, enabling them to analyze vulnerabilities, implement security mechanisms, and protect computer systems, networks, and applications from threats and attacks.

Computer Networks Lab

The Computer Networks Lab provides students with practical understanding and hands-on experience in network concepts, protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting techniques, enabling them to design, analyze, and manage computer networks effectively.

Project Lab

The Project Lab enables students to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills to design, develop, and implement real-time projects, fostering innovation, problem-solving, teamwork, and professional competence.

Seminar Hall

To conduct special seminars on the latest developments and trends in the field of Information Technology, the department has a fully equipped seminar hall with a seating capacity of 60.

Class Rooms

Each classroom is Wi-Fi enabled and furnished with an OHP, an LCD projector, and a dedicated laptop to support the e-learning process.

Library

The department library has more than 200 books covering a wide range of subjects, as well as several journals. These include ACM Transactions on Database Systems, Software Engineering and Methodology, Operating Systems and Programming Languages, ACM Computing Surveys, International Journal for Neural Systems, Computational Intelligence and Applications, Software Engineering Notes, Operating System Review, Computer Communication Review, and Computer Architecture.
