Objective

The CoEs at Agni College of Technology are playing a vital role in preparing students for the industry and in promoting innovation, skill development and entrepreneurship.

The objectives of the Centers of Excellence (CoE) at Agni College of Technology are to

Provide students with the latest industry-relevant knowledge and skills.
Bridge the academia-industry gap by providing opportunities for students to work on live projects with industry partners.
Help companies to test new ideas, processes, and technologies before implementation.
Promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty.
Expose students to the latest trends and technologies in their field of study.
Promote research and development in emerging areas of engineering and technology.
Incubate startups and promote entrepreneurship.
Collaborate with industry partners on joint research projects.

Context

The Centers of Excellence (CoE) at Agni College of Technology are specialized units that provide students and faculty with access to the latest industry-relevant knowledge, skills, and equipment. The CoEs are established in collaboration with leading industry partners, and they offer students the opportunity to work on live projects and to gain insights into the latest trends and technologies in their field of study.

The CoEs at Agni College of Technology are an integral part of the college’s commitment to providing students with a high-quality education that prepares them for success in the global economy. The CoEs help students to develop the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in their careers, and they also contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in engineering and technology. For establishing the CoE the MoU is signed between Agni college of Technologies and other leading Industries

The Practice

The CSE,IT&AIDS CoE partners with Virtusa ,Data Patterns,Movate for training and placements and with IDS for developing block chain networks.
The Mechatronics Engineering CoE partners with Malles Automation to design and implement automated systems for manufacturing
processes.
The ECE CoE works closely with Bosch and Texas Instruments to integrate cutting-edge embedded systems into real-world applications.
The Mechanical Engineering CoE teams up with Harita TVS to develop sustainable and energy-efficient vehicular solutions.

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering CoE collaborates with Nestlives Energy and Dev Solar to explore renewable energy technologies and smart grid solutions.
The Chemical Engineering CoE partners with Meridian Oil & Gas and Seagrass to develop innovative processes for resource extraction and utilization.
The Biomedical Engineering CoE works with Siemens Healthineers to advance medical device technology and improve patient outcomes.
The Civil Engineering CoE collaborates with L&T-CSTI to design and implement sustainable infrastructure solutions.

The two-day training program conducted on 15th and 16th February 2022 covered the following topics
PLC Programming as per IEC 61131-3
Motion Programming of Servo Drives
Demonstration of motion control of linear guideway using AC drive control unit
The training program was conducted by Bosch Rexroth trainer – Mr. Milind Tavre.

COE

In the academic year 2022-2023, One week Workshop on “Maintenance and Operation of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipments” was conducted by “Siemens Healthineers CoE”, during 6th to 10th February 2023.

Department were involved in the hands on session. Mr.Swaminathan N, Manager, Service and Sales, DTE division, Siemens Healthineers, Chennai, was the resource person for the week.

Meridian School of Oil and Gas Pvt.Ltd was established on 16.05.2019.In the academic year 2022-2023, a one month implant Training was provided to 4th year student in “Meridian School of Oil and Gas Pvt. Ltd” during 20th February to 20th March 2023. Students of 4th year CME Department were actively participated.

SEAGRASS TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD was established on 24.09.2021. In the academic year 2022-2023, a Project work was completed by 4th year student in “Seagrass Tech Private Limited” during 05th February to 30th April 2023. Students of 4th year CME Department were actively participated.

Problems encountered & resources required

Attracting and retaining top-tier faculty with expertise in the chosen CoE domain is a challenging task.
The CoEs need to upgrade their infrastructure and equipment consistently to ensure that students have access to the latest resources they need to learn and practice their skills.
Need more marketing for the CoE's expertise and accomplishments to attract more external funding, collaborations.
