Placement Policy

Preamble

At Agni College of Technology, the placement of students graduating from undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs is recognized as a critical component of their academic journey. The Training and Placement (T&P) Cell plays a pivotal role in facilitating this process by preparing students for employment opportunities in various industries. The T&P Cell is dedicated to enhancing employability by organizing diverse training programs, residential camps, and incorporating Employability Enhancement Courses directly into the curriculum. These initiatives aim to align students’ skills with the expectations of both core and software industries.

Objectives

To provide structured training that equips students with the skills and competencies needed to secure employment upon graduation.
To regularly evaluate the progress and effectiveness of training sessions, ensuring students assimilate the necessary knowledge and skills.
To facilitate campus recruitment drives by inviting reputed companies, with the goal of achieving 100% placement for all eligible students by the completion of their academic programs.

Policy Guidelines

Placement Offer Categories

Core Offers: Employment opportunities specific to core industries, including manufacturing, production, civil engineering, and other department-specific roles.
Super Dream Offers: Offers with a Cost to Company (CTC) of ₹6.5 LPA and above.
Dream Offers: Offers with a CTC ranging between ₹4.5 LPA and ₹6.5 LPA.
General Offers: Offers with a CTC below ₹4.5 LPA.

Placement Rules

General Eligibility and Participation: Students may apply for placement opportunities in companies visiting the campus, provided they meet the eligibility criteria specified by the respective companies.

Offer Upgradation and Restrictions:

General Offer Upgradation: Students who secure a placement under the General Offer category are allowed to apply for companies offering Dream, Super Dream, or Core Offers to improve their placement outcome.
Dream offer Upgradation:
Placement Lock: Students securing a Super Dream Offer in CSE/IT streams or a Core Offer in other departments are considered placed and are not permitted to apply for further placement opportunities.

Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs)

Students receiving a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) must notify the T&P department within 24 hours of receiving the offer.
If the PPO is accepted, the student will be considered placed and will not be eligible to participate in further placement activities.
If the student wishes to decline the PPO and participate in on-campus placements, they must seek approval from the Director, T&P. The approval will be granted based on the merits of the case, and the student must sign an undertaking to not apply for companies offering placements below the PPO’s category.

Off-Campus Placement Offers

Internship Guidelines

Students must accept on-campus internship offers.
Declining an internship will result in the student being treated as an off-campus placed candidate, and they will only be eligible for on-campus opportunities in higher offer categories.
If a student secures an internship without a Full-Time Employment (FTE) offer, they will be considered placed with a notional CTC equivalent to that offered by the company.

Selection Process and Company Criteria

Companies are solely responsible for shortlisting students based on their specific selection criteria, including CGPA cutoffs. The T&P Cell does not influence or alter the company’s decision on these criteria.
Students must ensure that all data provided through Google Forms or CVs is accurate. Any discrepancies, false claims, or errors found during verification will result in debarment for the entire placement session and disciplinary action.

Dress Code for Campus
Interviews

The placement cell has the right to deny entry to a student for the selection process on the grounds of unprofessional attire and shall be de-registered from placements. The following dress code is mandatory for all students participating in the placement process

Formal Attire:

Male Students: Formal dress, a full-sleeved formal shirt, a tie (optional but recommended), formal black shoes, and a blazer (optional but recommended).
Female Students: Formal dress, formal shoes or heels, and minimal jewelry.

General Guidelines:

Clothes should be clean, ironed, and well-fitted.
Avoid wearing jeans, t-shirts, casual wear, or brightly colored clothing.
Maintain a neat and professional hairstyle.
Ensure that shoes are polished and in good condition.
Refrain from wearing excessive accessories or strong fragrances.

Student Responsibilities and
Conduct

Students must attend all placement-related activities, including company presentations and interviews, on time. Absence or tardiness without prior notice will result in a minimum debarment period of two weeks.
Students always have to carry one folder with them containing updated Resumes Hard Board, Mark sheets & Certificates photocopies, Passport Size Photos, Resumes & Stationery items like Pen, Pencil, Blank Sheets, Stapler, Glue Stick etc.
Students must carry their identity cards whenever they undergo a placement process
Students must conduct themselves professionally during placement activities. Misconduct, such as cheating during tests or inappropriate behavior, will lead to immediate debarment for the entire placement session.
Students are prohibited from sharing company-related information on social media or other platforms. Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action.

Students must adhere to the placement schedule and deadlines.
Students must attend all the rounds of the selection process for the companies they have applied to.
Attendance during placement-related activities (pre-placement talks, workshops, tests, interviews) will be considered as mandatory attendance and will be factored into the overall attendance calculation. Absence from these activities without valid reasons may impact placement eligibility. If the student absent for three drives without proper reasons or proper permission the student will loss the eligibility for the upcoming placement drives.
Strict action will be taken against students exhibiting negative behavior towards offers or companies, such as declining offers without valid reasons, speaking negatively about the company, or bypassing official channels.
If a student has been recruited by a company, the concerned student will not be allowed to appear for any other interviews for placement arranged by the college. However, placed students may be considered to attend for another drive on a visit of big brands or a core stream company based on the decisions taken from the placement cell.
