(I) NPTEL Video Lectures By IIT Professors

PreambleNational Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) provides E-learning from IIT and IISc Professors through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of engineering education in the country by providingfree online courseware

NPTEL Course Videos can be accessed through two modes;

ONLINE a http://nptel.ac.in/ or http://nptel.ac.in/courses.php

OFFLINE - College has downloaded all the courses as on April 2014 into Hard Disks. It is made available in Digital Library and also through LAN.


Mapping of NPTEL Videos with the university subject syllabus is included in faculty lesson plan to facilitate the students.

(II) Bridge Course / Workshop Materials / CD Given Through DOTE

Centre for Faculty Development, Anna University conducts faculty training programmes on English and Mathematics which in turn will help the students in comprehending the subjects in a lucid manner. Bridge Course / Work Shop Session Details and Bridge Course / Work Shop Video Files are available and updated regularly in the web link http://cfd.annauniv.edu/bridge%20courses.phpl Bridge Course CD given by DOTE is also available in the Department of Science and Humanities of our College for the Access.

(III) EDUSAT - Anna University

The Centre for Faculty Development of Anna University Chennai conducts the ANNA EDUSAT live interactive audio-video lecture programmes transmitted through KU-Band provided by ISRO, Bangalore from January 2006 onwards. Up linking and down linking facilities are available at the University. Down linking facilities have been provided in 78 Engineering Colleges.

Our College is in the process of applying membership of this programme and it will be start broadcasting soon

(IV) Web Link / E-Learning - ANNA UNIVERSITY

The Centre for Faculty Development of Anna University - Chennai conducts the WEB CONTENT audio-video lecture programmes. A group of well experienced experts from our University has delivered lectures for various subjects from Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. (V) Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC)

MOOCs( Massive Open Online Courses) are a very recent phenomenon initiated in the year 2011 in top ranking universities and expanding very rapidly in Higher Education. A Massive Open Online Course is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web in addition to traditional course materials such as videos, readings, and problem sets, MOOCs provide interactive user forums that help build a community for students, professors, and teaching assistants (TAs). This is an exciting development and It will open up education to students and trigger our universities to adapt more innovative and flexible teaching methods. (VI) Spoken Tutorial Project - IIT Bombay

The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the 'Talk to a Teacher' activity of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. The training and workshops is offered to all students and teachers free of cost and without needing to leave their campus. Software offered are Linux, LaTeX, Scilab, C/C++, PHPMySQL, Java, Netbeans, Python, LibreOffice, Blender, GIMP, Oscad, OpenFOAM and many more. These are all very useful for studies as well as employability.
